Pilipit Recipe

  • 2 cups all-purpose-flour
  • 1 pc egg
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

For the Sugar Coating:

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup sugar


  • Combine and sift all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • Add-in the beaten egg, milk, and cooking oil together and pour into the dry ingredients. Then mix with hand to form a dough.
  • Divide the dough into 2 equal portions.
  • Form it into a log and flatten it using a rolling pin. Then cut the dough vertically.
  • Roll each piece into a thin-rope. Roll both ends into opposite direction to twist. (You can do it again to make a double twist, if you like.)
  • Fry the pilipit until light golden brown. Drain and set aside.
  • For the sugar syrup, put sugar and water in a saucepan.
  • Let it simmer and then toss-in the pilipit over the sugar syrup until it dries.
