Churros With Chocolate Dip


  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (butter)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Coating:

  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

For the Chocolate Dip:

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tbsp instant coffee (optional)
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • pinch of salt


  1. Combine water, vegetable oil, white sugar and salt
  2. Dissolve sugar and let it boil
  3. Add all purpose flour and mix until it forms a ball
  4. Transfer dough into the bowl
  5. Add vanilla extract and mix well
  6. Let it cool down before adding the eggs
  7. Add eggs. One at a time and mix after each addition
  8. Transfer dough into the piping bag with a big open star tip
  9. Start piping: line a parchment paper on a tray and squeeze 4 inch strip of dough. Freeze for 15-30 minutes.
  10. Fry until golden brown *or Squeeze 4 inch strip of dough into the hot oil
  11. Mix white sugar and cinnamon powder. Set aside
  12. Heat oil and Fry churros until golden brown
  13. Drain excess oil
  14. Coat churros with cinnamon sugar
  15. Serve warm with chocolate dip

For the Chocolate Dip:

  1. Combine evaporated milk, all purpose flour, cocoa powder, instant coffee powder, salt and white sugar. Mix well
  2. Cook over low heat until thick. Continue stirring
  3. Turn the heat off. Mix in butter and vanilla extract. Set aside
