Maja Blanca Without Gata


  • 3 cups cornstarch
  • 370ml evaporated milk
  • 250ml all purpose cream
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 425g whole kernel sweet corn, drain liquid
  • 1/2 cup butter/margarine, softened
  • 1 cup powdered milk bear brand (optional)
  • 9 cups water grated cheese


  1. Dilute cornstarch with 2 cups of water. Set aside
  2. Combine remaining water, whole kernel sweet corn, powdered milk and butter
  3. Bring mixture to a boil
  4. Add evaporated milk, all purpose cream and sugar
  5. Bring mixture to a boil again
  6. Turn heat to low. Gradually add the dissolved cornstarch while stirring
  7. Top with grated cheese. Cool completely
